7 tips for practicing the violin for adult beginners

Here are 7 tips to help you practise better and more effectively

 

 

1. establish a regular practice routine and stick to it. Make sure you have a set place to practice and a set time of day to practice.

2. divide your practice sessions into smaller sections and focus on one technique or skill at a time, practicing slowly

3. use a metronome to keep in time, even if it’s difficult at first

4. take regular breaks while practicing. This gives your mind a chance to rest and refocus.

5. focus on the positive and celebrate your progress. It’s important to recognize the small improvements you make each day, even if it’s just a few notes.

6. practise regularly for at least 20 minutes a day, rather shorter than longer.

7. have realistic expectations and don’t get frustrated if you are not progressing as quickly as you would like.
