Building a violin from the roof beams of the Frauenkirche in Munich, part 12

When the body is finished, I continue with the scroll.

Here, the outline of the scroll is first drawn on the neck scantling using the template and then roughly sawn out.
There are many different ways of doing this.
I first finish the pegbox and the outer outline and then move on to the scroll windings. These are pierced with different sized gouges, then rounded and finished.

After finishing the scroll, I plane an ebony fingerboard, which I glue onto the semi-finished neck.
