in Violin made from cathedral wood

Building a violin from the roof beams of the Frauenkirche in Munich, part 14

After the neck has been glued in, I now cut the neck grip.

The shape of the handle is very important. The neck should not be too thick, but still stable. It should “feel good to the touch and lie well in the hand”.
Then the suppository is shaped and the surface of the instrument is prepared for varnishing.
Finished in white 🙂
