The conductor:
Bernhard Koch was born into a family of musicians in Munich and thus came into contact with classical music at a very early age. Stations
are private violin studies, the course to become a sound engineer and the study of musicology, participation as a violinist and
Viola player in several Munich orchestras, continued as a bassist and member of the choir of the Bavarian State Opera for 10 years; next to it since
Music teacher for over 30 years. Bernhard Koch has led the Young Munich Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years.

As every year, the Camerata Munich under the baton of Bernhard Koch brings in internationally sought-after soloists to vividly present the great concert literature of baroque music. This year we hear Anna Kakutia, one of the most renowned and expressive violinists for new music, this time with a magnificently pictorial piece by Antonio Vivaldi, namely the Winter op. 8/4 from the Four Seasons. There is more from Vivaldi through the two sisters Luciana and Mariana Beleaeva, who shine together in the little-known but all the more lively double concerto in C major RV 507. The soloist Paolo Fazio, who is popular not only in Munich, lets the Christmas trumpet fanfares sound with Guiseppe Torelli’s D major concerto (Roger 188).

The fact that all members of the Camerata Munich are also soloists is impressively demonstrated in Georg Friedrich Handel’s Concerto Grosso op. 6/1 and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto BWV 1048. This results in a colorful, festive and joyful program Regardless of all pandemic-related restrictions, proclaims: Now it’s Christmas!
